Many UK businesses located in areas severely affected by last year’s floods still haven’t done anything to protect their business critical IT systems. That’s according to a survey of 300 companies by Star, an ISP which specialises in serving the business community.
Surprisingly, the survey found that while almost 7 out of 10 of businesses say they have created a plan to help them reduce the impact of major incidents, the majority haven’t taken any steps to protect their IT infrastructure.
Less than four in ten businesses had taken any steps to keep e-commerce sites up and running, protect mail servers, facilitate remote working, or ensure that staff had access to critical applications in the event of a major incident.
