UKAS (the The United Kingdom Accreditation Service) has announced that following a pilot project, it is now able to accept new applications from certification bodies wishing to certify companies to BS 25999 (the business continuity management standard).
Various organisations helped UKAS to develop its approach to the assessment of certification bodies in relation to BS 25999. Of these, BSI Management Systems and Lloyd's Register Quality
Assurance
have now been accredited as certification bodies. Others that took part in the pilot assessment programme continue to progress towards accreditation.
