Following the issue of ISO 28000 Specification for security management systems for the supply chain in 2007, UKAS has received a limited amount of feedback enquiring whether it will be developing an accreditation approach for certification to this standard.
To assist UKAS in determining the need to develop its services in this area, it is inviting certification bodies to indicate their interest in certifying to this standard.
It is envisaged that if there is sufficient interest, then UKAS will initiate a development project to consider assessment and accreditation issues in this area. This would include a pilot assessment programme. Further invitations to participate in this programme would be issued if the project were agreed
