Business Continuity Institute adds new certification level

Get free weekly news by e-mailThe Business Continuity Institute has announced the expansion of its certificate exam locations to nearly 200 in more than 60 countries. BCI also announced the addition of a new certification level for those new to the profession.

There are now more than 20 exam centres in each of the following regions: Middle East-Africa, Asia-Australia, Europe, and North America, with Latin America currently at 12 centres.

The new certification level, called the CBCI, is a baseline credential awarded to any candidate who passes the BCI certificate exam, regardless of the years of relevant work experience.

"The CBCI allows individuals who would like to pursue a career in business continuity to become certified as having baseline knowledge of business continuity principles but don't yet have the years of experience to qualify for professional-level certification status," said Lorraine Darke, executive director of the BCI.
