Marathon Technologies has announced the general availability of ‘everRun VM’ , the world’s first fault-tolerant, high availability software for server virtualization. With the release of everRun VM, Marathon claims that it is eliminating one of the major barriers to broader server virtualization adoption – the lack of reliable high availability for virtual servers – and providing customers with the assurance that critical data, networks and applications will be protected in virtual server environments.
everRun VM enables companies to:
- Prevent outages and data loss in their virtual infrastructures;
- Bring server virtualization’s cost and energy saving benefits to business critical and other production applications;
- Deploy high availability and disaster recovery protection across the company – especially mid-market companies.
everRun is integrated with Citrix XenServer, a dynamic virtualization software platform that virtualizes application workloads across any number of servers in the data centre as a flexible aggregated pool of computing resources. The combination of Citrix XenServer’s high-performance, easy-to-use, virtualization hypervisor with the automated availability options provided by the everRun software enables more enterprises to deploy virtualization across a much broader array of applications.
Qualified customers can download a free 15-day trial of everRun VM. The latest version of Citrix XenServer 4.1 is also available as a trial edition. everRun VM suggested retail pricing is $2000 per server (perpetual license) for customers that have Citrix XenServer Enterprise Edition. everRun VM with Citrix XenServer 4.1 Enterprise Edition is $4500 per server for a perpetual license.
