FSA consults on Basel II accord

The UK Financial Services Authority has issued a consultation paper on Basel II
and EU Capital Adequacy Standards. Entitled 'Report and first consultation on the implementation of the new Basel and EU Capital Adequacy Standards,' the period for consultation responses closes on 14th November 2003.

The paper explains the FSA’s initial thinking on the implementation of the revised Basel Accord and gives more detail on the proposed approach.

The FSA is encouraging all firms that are affected by Basel II to read the paper.
