ICM develops ‘Emergency Office’

Get free weekly news by e-mailA new solution to help businesses to quickly provision home working during a crisis has been launched by ICM Business Continuity Services.

‘Emergency Office’ comprises of a suite of resources giving full, secure access to company networks and files through a pre-loaded CD, DVD or USB memory stick which can be used on any broadband-enabled home PC or laptop. Using precisely replicated systems, Emergency Office helps keep the employee working as usual, with minimal loss of access to corporate documents and correspondence.

Additionally, Emergency Office offers:

- Protocols to protect files from unauthorised downloads;
- Seamless contact between users, colleagues and clients, maximising productivity;
- VoIP capability for client and colleague calls, with no need for third party phone lines – calls are redirected automatically to the correct DDI number;
- Full encryption of all data to minimise threats from data loss or theft;
- A simple one-device solution that can be distributed easily in the event of office closure.

Mike Osborne, MD of ICM Business Continuity Services commented: "On average only 30 percent of employees can be accommodated in subscribed-to space in disaster recovery centres. Traditionally the remaining 70 percent of staff have been sent home; often being unable to carry out much, or any, work. Now, through the use of Emergency Office, the vast majority of these can now be enabled to work productively, safely and securely. Worries about phone line usage, file access, document formatting and security for example, are all addressed by the software."

As well as extending the number of employees who can work during an invocation, Emergency Office can also be used to enable 100 percent home working; something which is especially useful for pandemic planning purposes.

To ensure the best possible functionality for users, ICM is undertaking a full beta testing programme for the Emergency Office launch, and is seeking volunteers who would like to take part in the trial.

To volunteer as a beta tester contact ICM on 08448 63 00 63 or email info@icm-continuity.co.uk
