Pakistan Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro has told a meeting on the security and improvement of national telecom and information services that action is needed to improve the resiliency of the country’s telecoms infrastructure and to reduce business continuity risks to telecom users, operators and the government sector.
Prime Minister Soomro emphasized the need for a reliable communications system and said that the availability of secure voice and data communication is critical both in normal and in crisis situations due to the high dependence of industry, business, banking and the government sector on the telecoms infrastructure.
The Prime Minister called for improvements in redundancy and spoke about the need to facilitate multiple domestic networks and backbones.
