After three and a half years John Sharp is stepping down as policy and development director of the UK’s Continuity Forum to pursue other interests in the business continuity arena. During the period he has been supporting Continuity Forum John has worked on several major initiatives as well as presenting on behalf of the Forum at events throughout the UK.
“The time is right both for Continuity Forum and myself for me to move on,” said Mr. Sharp. “The new BCM Standard BS 25999 has been published and the bulk of the work associated with the Civil Contingencies Act is completed. Whilst I have enjoyed the period I have spent with Continuity Forum I have become interested and more involved in the delivery of BCM advice and training to organisations directly”. His clients include a major government department, an international pharmaceutical company and Category 1 responders in the UK. He is an Associate Course Director at the government’s Emergency Planning College where he assists in the delivery of BCM courses.
John Sharp is also the author of ‘The Route Map to Business Continuity Management’ which provides a guide to meeting the requirements of BS25999 and was published by British Standards (BSI) in December 2007.
