Elland recovery centre open day

Get free weekly news by e-mailSunGard Availability Services has issued an open invitation to an open day at its Elland Recovery Centre on the morning of Thursday 7th February 2008. The event will include various seminar sessions which will look at the real risks that face businesses every day in the modern world. In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to view SunGard’s newly opened Recovery Centre at Elland. The event is free of charge.

Drawing upon industry expertise, you can get the inside track on how to prepare for BS 25999. You’ll find out what pitfalls to avoid and the tools which you can utilise to achieve successful certification for the first British Standard in business continuity management. Mark Brown of SunGard Availability Services will present on how it achieved BS 25999 certification, plus the points to consider and lessons learnt along the way. In addition to this, you will receive a presentation from Peter Sloane of Irwin Mitchell, on how its Sheffield office coped in the first major flooding in over 150 years and how it was able to be open for business the following morning. Janet Walker of North Lincolnshire Council will join the event to speak on how the council’s IT service managed the loss of its IT suite and the lessons they learnt.
