BCI Workshop asks if crisis management is ‘all about reputation’

The Business Continuity Institute is hosting a workshop that aims to answer the question: ‘Crisis management: is it all about reputation?’ The topics for the workshop reflect specific issues for all those with responsibility for continuity and resilience planning in organisations of every size and throughout every sector: why effective crisis management is important to every organisation; what are the consequences of failing to manage in a crisis; how can we ensure an effective response to new and unexpected threats?

Many organisations have a well developed business continuity programme but still feel uncertain about their ability to respond effectively to the constantly widening range of threats that challenge the resilience of the organisation. This is where the disciplines of ‘crisis management’ provide a foundation and structure to support an organisation in the face of disruption: to manage every aspect of the chosen response; to communicate with key stakeholders; to protect the welfare of employees and customers; and to preserve corporate reputation. Accordingly, the Crisis Management Workshop on the 24th January comprises two main sessions:
* Crisis management: is it all about reputation?
* Responding to an incident: and meeting the requirements of BS25999.
