The year commences with its innovative ‘BCM Challenges for 2008’ conference (Gold Sponsor: Hitachi Data Systems) to be held on 31 January and 1 February in Old Windsor, near Heathrow airport. Automata believes that with the emergence of new standards and guidance for BCM (e.g. BS 25999) and IT Service Continuity (e.g. BS PAS 77) there will be an urgent requirement for BCM professionals and IT service continuity professionals to work together in an integrated fashion during 2008. Furthermore, their professional services team has identified that known threats to organisations of every sector, such as terrorism and climate change, will be compounded by technology vulnerabilities within increasingly complex IT architectures. Accordingly, in addition to the main conference agenda covering all business continuity management challenges, specialist ‘IT Service Continuity Management’ breakout sessions will review technology challenges. The latter will be aimed at IT professionals with key roles in BCM programmes. Full details are given at: http://www.automataservices.com/conference.htm

Automata’s training programme for the rest of 2008 has been carefully designed to address the BCM challenges for 2008 that the conference will explore.
