SunGard completes VeriCenter acquisition

SunGard has announced that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of Houston-based VeriCenter, Inc. The transaction, the terms of which were not disclosed, is not expected to have a material impact on SunGard's financial results.

The acquisition of VeriCenter, a leading managed services, application hosting and IT infrastructure outsourcing company for large and mid-market enterprises, enhances SunGard Availability Services' managed service delivery capabilities.

SunGard will add seven data centers throughout the US that geographically complement its existing US facilities.

"SunGard's acquisition of VeriCenter provides customers of both companies a comprehensive range of information availability services from a single provider," said Ted Gaasche, chief executive officer of SunGard Availability Services.

SunGard Availability Services will now serve more than 10,000 customers and have nearly four million square feet of data center space in North America and Europe.
