EMAP, the US Emergency Management Accreditation Program, has released the inaugural edition of its ‘Emergency Management Standards by EMAP’ for public comment.
Representatives from the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA), International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), National Governors Association (NGA), The Council of State Governments (CSG), International City/County Management Association (ICMA), National Association of Counties (NACo) and other public and private sector partners worked together to create the standards, which EMAP stresses are separate and independent of NFPA 1600.
The ‘Emergency Management Standards by EMAP’ are open for public comment until July 31, 2007.
