SafeGuard launches business continuity consultancy services

SafeGuard iT, a business continuity provider based in South Africa, has expanded its service offerings with the launch of SafeGuard Planning Solutions (SPS). This new division will provide a range of consulting services to assist organisations in developing business continuity plans.

"This is an important move for SafeGuard in our objective to extend and strengthen our business offerings. As more people need more access to more information, our goal is to add continually to our ability to offer a reliable and consistent service to clients with highly innovative products and services that can protect the flow of information throughout their organisations," explained Bernard Vertenten, MD of SafeGuard iT, a joint venture between the AST Group and SunGard.

"We understand the importance and complexity of information management and protection issues, which make it increasingly difficult to design and implement solutions without expert assistance," explains Billie-Jean Coetzee of SafeGuard Planning Solutions. "Through our local knowledge and leveraging off international experience, SPS can assist organisations in developing risk based contingency plans and recovery solutions enabling them to develop relevant and cost effective strategies for business survival."

SafeGuard iT supports its customers with a variety of platforms, ranging from mainframe to numerous UNIX and client server platforms. It currently has high availability computer facility (HACF) facilities in Midrand and Randburg.
