The second annual Strohl Systems User Group Awards were presented on April 22 in the categories of ‘Most Effective BCP Organization’ and ‘BCP Achievement’ during the Strohl Systems International User Group Conference. The company and individual were cited for outstanding performances and contributions to business continuity planning.
The 2007 award recipients were:
Most Effective BCP Organization Award
State Street Corporation was honored for achievement in and commitment to the field of business continuity planning and for innovative and creative uses of Strohl Systems products or services. The judges noted State Street's strong, centralized program with outstanding executive support, its promotion of business continuity planning externally and the initiative to bring in an outside auditor to evaluate the program maturity as reasons for bestowing the award on them.
BCP Achievement Award
Greig Fennell, Director, Enterprise Risk and Corporate Business Continuation, of Sprint Nextel Corporation, was honored for achievement in the business continuity profession. The reasons the judges chose Fennell were his well-rounded BCP experience, his contributions to the profession through participation in industry association and speaking engagements, and his mentoring of others.
Each award recipient was presented with a plaque in front of the over 550 business continuity professionals in attendance.
