NASCIO has launched a DVD to promote benefits of continuity of operations planning within US local and governmental organizations. A joint product of NASCIO's Enterprise Infrastructure & Services Committee and NASCIO's Corporate Leadership Council, the DVD is designed for elected officials and government leaders who influence funding decisions related to disaster recovery planning, and to assist state CIOs in making the business case for disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

This DVD examines the cost to states' day-to-day business activities in the event that a disaster were to shut down a state's mission critical applications for any length of time, and will serve as a tool to demonstrate the downside of loss of critical IT business functions.

Although aimed at the public sector the messages are equally relevant to private sector audiences. View the 11 minute video here.
