VaultStor Corporation has announced the launch of a new product designed to protect customers' on-site data from fire and water damage. VaultStor's Disaster Recovery Vault (DRV) is claimed to be the only networked attached storage device in the world to be compliant with UL 72 150 1 hour (1700 degrees F) and water immersion to 33 feet.
Launched at the 2007 Data Protection Summit in Irvine, California, VaultStor's DRV has been designed to be compatible with existing and emerging backup and recovery software, and to operate with industry standard NAS and IP SAN protocols. Capacities of the DRV scale from 500 GB to over 250TB, with performance scaling from 100MB/s to over 1000MB/s.
