UK NHS to coordinate National Workshop on Pandemic Influenza

Following the success of the NHS National Workshop on Pandemic Influenza held in June 2006, the Department of Health is planning to host another event on Monday 5th March at the New Connaught Rooms, London.

The workshop will provide an update on preparing for pandemic influenza, highlighting progress and next steps. A number of presentations will be given on national and international issues, modelling, communications, local authority planning and resilience and ethics.

The organiser’s also plan to run a number of workshops that will allow participants to share experience and examples of good practice.

The National Workshop on Pandemic Influenza follows Exercise Winter Willow on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th February, in which the Government's response to a human ‘flu pandemic was exercised and tested.
