ContinuitySA opens a recovery centre in Botswana

Get free weekly news by e-mailSouth Africa based ContinuitySA has opened a business continuity facility in Botswana. The move has been welcomed by the financial sector in the country.

The facility was developed in partnership with a major ContinuitySA customer. This multinational financial institution enabled ContinuitySA to expedite the development of the business continuity facility and provided the necessary assurance of a profitable entry into the business continuity market in that country.

The 24-hour high security facility occupies 1,425 square meters and provides seats for approximately 200 staff aligned to both dedicated and syndicated work-area recovery offerings, with adequate rest areas and aesthetically pleasing garden surrounds included to ensure a more people-friendly work space.

Two security controlled and fire protected server rooms, with redundancy in air conditioning cooling in each, provide ample server storage space to meet clients' needs with VSAT and broadband links ensuring direct telephony to the rest of the world for the client(s) resident in the building during a disaster invocation. Backup diesel generator and UPS plants ensure continuity of work and data records in the event of failure of the local electrical utility supply.

The facility will enable ContinuitySA to offer disaster recovery services in the area and will provide a base for business continuity management consulting in Botswana.
