Making risk management work for ATMs: identification and solutions

The ATM Industry Association, the international trade body for the ATM industry, is launching a new chapter, ATMIA Canada, at a risk management workshop it is hosting on June 17th-18th, 2003 in Toronto, Canada.

The event's keynote speaker, US Secret Service Special Agent, Gregg James, will present a case study on recent ATM fraud cases in the US so that the Canadian market can learn important lessons from these experiences.

Other sessions will include:

* Visa Canada will share an overview of Visa's PIN security programme, PED testing programme and proposed ISO/service provider risk standards.

* The Interac Association will present on how risk management needs to be a shared responsibility throughout the industry.

* MasterCard Canada will examine the hurdles that have been overcome and issues that need to be addressed with regards to payment card fraud.

* Other industry experts from Canada will discuss topics such as risk management in the ATM environment, payment card fraud, global security issues, international ATM fraud trends, and general corporate risk reduction methods.
