National Preparedness Month 2006 launched in US

Get free weekly news by e-mailThe US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced that more than 1,150 national, regional, state and local organizations have joined the department to take part in National Preparedness Month. This nationwide effort encourages Americans to prepare for emergencies of all kinds in their homes, businesses, schools and communities. This year, the department is putting a particular focus on family emergency preparedness.

In terms of events for businesses associated with National Preparedness Month 2006, the state of Kentucky will host a series of Business Preparedness Summits for private sector companies across the state and their will be similar events in Louisville, Lexington, Somerset, Fort Mitchell, Bowling Green and Mayfield which will provide small and medium size businesses the information they need to be prepared for emergencies.
