UK Channel Islands – the Channel Islands Keynote Summer lecture will be presented on 5th September by Dr Deborah Pretty who proved to be a very popular speaker at the BCI Symposium last year. Dr Pretty’s lecture is entitled Business Continuity Management - Measuring Contribution to Performance covering:
Investment in Business Continuity Management is critical to avoid tragedy, at worst, or a sudden loss in shareholder value, at best. Research is presented which measures the prevalence of reputation crisis, identifies the most common triggers behind sudden drops in value and demonstrates the sustained impact on firms and their chief executive officers. In addition, the research demonstrates the value of investing in business continuity management by offering a framework for analysing BCM investment in a shareholder value context. As might be imagined places are filling up very quickly for this Jersey based event so enquiries should be directed to Chris Oliver at chris.oliver@itex.gg to check on availability.

UK London Forum Seminar – Under Crisis Conditions
The London Forum has a few places still available for its seminar due to be held on 7th September near Heathrow Airport. The seminar will be based around you demonstrating your skills in ‘communicating effectively’ under crisis conditions. What does this mean? Well, if you want a challenge, expect your ‘personal states’ to be fully ‘tested & exercised’ when you become an active member within a crisis management team (CMT), responding to a realistic scenario that is in someway aligned to an event planned for 2012. www.bcilondonforum.org
