SteelEye Technology has used the LinuxWorld Expo as a platform to announce two new products. The first is LifeKeeper for Linux v6, an update to its award-winning high availability clustering solution. The second is SteelEye Data Replication v6, its new solution to provide continuous data protection across both local and wide area networks.
In addition to protecting VMware ESX Server 2.5, now LifeKeeper for Linux v6 adds management for applications and data residing in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 from Novell and VMware Infrastructure 3 systems. Using this new product, applications can be migrated seamlessly among servers in a variety of cluster configurations including physical-to-physical, virtual-to-virtual, and physical-to-virtual failovers. This flexibility allows users to build the cluster that best matches their availability needs and best leverages their existing infrastructure.
An industry-proven solution on Linux, SteelEye Data Replication offers users the ability to protect data more quickly and efficiently than traditional, standalone backup technologies. SteelEye Data Replication v6 supports either synchronous or asynchronous continuous data protection with intent logging across both LANs and WANs. These features are critical to a fully integrated disaster recovery solution, complete with real-time data replication and automated monitoring and failover for applications.
