Tek-Tools releases Backup Policy Auditor

Get free weekly news by e-mailTek-Tools Software has launched Backup Policy Auditor for VERITAS NetBackup. The tool automates the management and tracking of scheduled backup jobs and provides a means to audit backup policies and schedules. NetBackup users can now track missed client schedules and compare what was supposed to be backed-up against what was actually backed-up. The Backup Policy Auditor retains historical data for compliance and trending purposes.

"From a compliance perspective, the ability to have a predictable process in place to audit what jobs were scheduled to run but, in fact, never ran is just as important as understanding what jobs failed or succeeded. The creation of the Backup Policy Auditor is a direct result of feedback from our customers," stated Curt Simmons, vice president of sales for Tek-Tools. "Any comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plan is incomplete unless you can validate all three outcomes of a backup job: failed, succeeded, or missed. NetBackup users now have a way to eliminate, what was up to this point, a black hole."
