Continuity Central shortlisted for BT IT security journalism awards

The three shortlisted articles are:

* Neil Baker for Power, published in Internal Auditing & Business Risk

* Bill Goodwin for IT Planning Vital to Meet Bird Flu Pandemic Threat published in Computer Weekly

* David Honour for Business Continuity Lessons from 7th July, published in www.continuitycentral.com

The winners will be announced at an awards lunch to be held at Browns Courtrooms in London on 11th July.

The judging panel, headed by Ray Stanton, global head of BT’s business continuity, security and governance practice, included Dr Paul Dorey, vice president of digital security and chief information security officer for BP plc; Malcolm Marshall, UK lead partner for security and continuity services at KPMG; Paul Wood, group business protection director, Aviva plc; Ron Condon, former editor-in-chief, SC Magazine; and Professor Fred Piper, director of the information security group at Royal Holloway University of London.

Ray Stanton said, “Congratulations to those who have made the shortlist of the inaugural BT IT Security Journalism Awards. We had more than 100 entries from 40 journalists and it was fascinating to read the wide variety of security articles submitted. The standard of the short-listed entries was very high – the judges were almost unanimous in their decisions and I very much look forward to announcing the winners on July 11th.”
