This informal gathering of senior international business and government leaders will be held on Thursday, April 27th and Friday, April 28th at NYU’s Villa La Pietra campus in Florence, Italy. The event aims to actively promote international corporate preparedness and public-private cooperation in emergency management.
The agenda for this inaugural International Private Sector Preparedness Summit will include:
* Active discussion of lessons learned from the past year’s crises (the tsunami, London bombings, US Gulf Coast hurricanes, etc.) led by individuals directly involved in each crisis;
* Briefings on new and evolving threats from international experts on the issues including avian flu, cyber-threats and the Middle East theatre;
* Research insights on key issues including effective public-private information sharing and the bottom-line business case for corporate preparedness; and,
* Discussion and development of cooperative strategies for effective public-private action in emergency readiness, response and recovery.
This program is being organized by the International Center for Enterprise Preparedness (InterCEP) of New York University , the first major academic center dedicated to private sector preparedness. http://www.nyu.edu/intercep/
