Partnership initiative launched by IAEM and GVF

Building on the collaboration of emergency managers with the satellite industry during periods of disaster response and recovery, GVF (the Global VSAT Forum ) and the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) have reached an agreement to coordinate on major events programs, training, and certifications.

“There are important synergies between emergency managers and the satellite industry,” said Beth Armstrong, executive director of IAEM. “But many of them are yet to be fully realized. This agreement will enable satellite communications companies to become more successful in addressing disaster recovery requirements, whether they are here in the US or in other nations of the world.”

“GVF has been extremely impressed with IAEM’s leadership in the emergency management sector,” said David Hartshorn, secretary general of GVF. “Our Members’ efforts to participate in this market will be significantly strengthened through this initiative.”
