Disaster Response Challenge 2006

The British Red Cross Emergency Response Unit (ERU) is to coordinate an open disaster response exercise which will provide a unique opportunity for participants to experience first hand the issues and decisions faced by the Red Cross ERU in a disaster situation – something that only a handful of people get to experience in a lifetime.

Built around a hypothetical disaster that unfolds in real time over a two-day period, this challenge will test the calmest and most practical of business continuity managers and will provide valuable first hand experience of operational decision-making during crisis conditions.

Date & timings:
Start: 8pm Friday, 7th April 2006
Finish: 3.30pm Sunday, 9th April 2006

Included in costs:
Meals (starting with breakfast on Saturday morning)
Accommodation (this will be basic in keeping with the ‘disaster’ environment of the course)
Costs: Places cost £50 and each participant must pledge to raise a minimum £500.
