Get free weekly news by e-mailUS-based ioSafe has launched a new ‘Disaster Ready Drive’ - an external hard drive packaged in a fire, flood and theft resistant outer housing. Combined with backup software and 24/7/365 Disaster Response Team support, the ioSafe Disaster Ready Drive offers a comprehensive protection solution.

"If your business experiences a flood, fire or hard drive failure for any reason, simply return the system to ioSafe. We recover the data, transfer it to a new system and send it back to you. Plug it in and you're back in business," says Robb Moore, CEO of ioSafe. “The hardware, software and support are all included in the purchase price."

ioSafe's innovative design packages a fast USB 2.0 or FireWire interface with up to 400 gigabytes of PC or Mac compatible storage in a patent-pending fire, flood and theft resistant steel enclosure. After a simple plug and play installation, any backup software can recognize and work with the system.

ioSafe Disaster Ready Drive has a MSRP between $2995 and $3300.
