‘Orchid Alert’, is designed to evaluate crisis and consequence management capabilities in the event of a terrorist threat.
According to www.safeguardingaustralia.org, a counter-terrorism exercise involving a simulated large-scale attack in Queensland, Australia, is currently running and will finish on 28th July. Termed ‘Orchid Alert’, the exercise has been designed to evaluate crisis and consequence management capabilities in the event of a terrorist threat.
Orchid Alert involves a range of discussion and capability exercises for hundreds of personnel from Federal and State security, intelligence and emergency service agencies.
Other counter-terrorism exercises have been carried out previously this year, in Melbourne, Darwin and Adelaide.
