The US Department of Homeland Security, in partnership with the Advertising Council, has launched ‘Listo Negocios’. This extension of the Listo campaign, which educates and empowers Spanish-speaking individuals to prepare for and respond to potential terrorist attacks and other emergencies, focuses on business preparedness. Listo Negocios will help Spanish-speaking owners and managers of small to medium-sized businesses develop business continuity plans (Planificación de la continuidad de operaciones).
“The terrorist attacks of 9/11 and the hurricanes that hit the southeast last fall showed that disastrous events can paralyze business operations.” said Michael Chertoff, Secretary of Homeland Security. “Listo Negocios was created to help encourage Spanish speaking business owners and managers to develop an emergency plan, thereby making our nation and our economy more able to respond and recover.”
Listo Negocios is the Spanish version of the Ready Business campaign, which Homeland Security unveiled in September 2004. The Listo Negocios website (www.listo.gov) is designed to make emergency planning easier by providing businesses with practical advice and easy to use templates in Spanish.
