The Business Continuity Institute has got the ball rolling for the North America Regional Business Continuity Awareness Week by outlining the agenda for the event. Scheduled for September 18th-24th, 2005, the purpose of the week is to continue to "Raise awareness, promote and enhance BCM in both the private and public sectors across North America."
The following groups are involved in planning and promoting North America Business Continuity Awareness Week:

* Business Continuity Institute
* Canadian Centre For Emergency Preparedness
* Canadian Information Processing Society, Business Continuity SIG
* Disaster Recovery Information Exchange, Canada
* Disaster Recovery Institute, International and its affiliate DRI Canada
* Emergency Preparedness for Industry and Commerce Council
* Global Partnership for Preparedness
* Hewlett-Packard Business Continuity & Availability
In July 2005, a package of materials will be available which will assist North American organisations in promoting business continuity to business partners and employees. The package will include:
* Case studies – good practices in action
* Information sheet – where to go for further assistance (knowledge/training)
* Fact sheet – what, when, where, why and how of business continuity management
* Recent events sheet – types, scope, magnitude and potential impact
* Promotional tips – how to elevate and maintain the momentum for business continuity in your organisation?
* Communication sheet – employee awareness, poster to distribute across your organisation
* Industry business continuity events sheets – what’s happening, when and where in North America
* Internal events sheet – ideas for use within your own organisation
* Awareness/education sessions
* Facilitation of business continuity exercises
* ‘Lunch n learn’ seminars
* Contests – website, exercises, etc.
* Open houses
* Vendor sessions
