ICM Computer Group plc has announced that it is to open its first business continuity centre in Scotland. The leasehold site was acquired on 31st March 2005 and will undergo a specialist refit expected to cost around £1.5 million. The centre is expected to be operational in stages from July 2005.
The centre will provide up to 500 syndicated recovery positions together with 6,000 square feet of data centre facilities. It is located in the Hamilton International Technology Park twenty minutes to the south of Glasgow, close to the M74 and M8 motorways and Glasgow's new southern orbital road.
The new recovery centre will be ICM’s eleventh UK facility.
Barry Roberts, ICM's chief executive commented: “ICM's stated strategy is to increase its national coverage in the expanding business continuity market. We have been operating in Scotland for a number of years and I am delighted that we can now offer our clients in Scotland a full IT Assurance service. Our selected site is a high quality modern building and is very well placed to serve the Glasgow, Edinburgh and central Scotland markets.”
