According
to Dr. Goh Moh Heng, executive director of Disaster Recovery Institute
Asia, Asia-Pacific countries need to rethink their business continuity,
backup and risk management plans to make them more stringent. Goh’s
comments were reported by INQ7.
“Asia is not that prepared for disasters,” said Goh.
“It’s not just about backup and storage anymore. Most
Asian organisations just backup their data on tapes and then store
them at an offsite location, but when it comes to recovering their
operations, they simply cannot do it.”
INQ7 reports that ‘Goh made an exception for big enterprises
but stressed that small- to medium-sized businesses are still in
the dark about disaster recovery.’
