The Storage Networking Industry Association's (SNIA) Data Management
Forum (DMF) will host what is claimed to be the world's first information
lifecycle management (ILM) conference between October 3rd-5th, 2004,
at the Hyatt Regency in Long Beach, CA.
"The practice of Information Lifecycle Management is undergoing
significant, rapid changes," said Charles Curtis, senior storage
engineer for Hewlett Packard and chairman of the SNIA Data Management
Forum. "These changes are being driven by a growing emphasis
on disaster recovery and business continuity, the proliferation
of regulatory mandates like Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA, and operational
requirements to increase the effective use of information assets.
This conference was developed to help information management professionals
evaluate and meet all of these expectations as efficiently as possible."
The 2004 ILM Solutions Conference and Expo will gather and present
the latest technologies available and will explore the issues, solutions
and best practices for data protection, retention, regulatory compliance,
disaster recovery and information lifecycle management.
