Joseph
Yam, chief executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, used a
speech at the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers to highlight the current
threats faced by the financial sector in the region.
Mr
Yam identified five long term issues which firms in Hong Kong will
have to address. These are:
* Structural shift in the banking sector
* China risk
* Technology risk
* Diversification risk
* Changing international standards.
