Kashya, a US-based provider
of in high-performance, cost-effective business continuity solutions,
has used a booth at the Data Center Decisions 2004 show and conference
in Illinois to demonstrate a realistic cross-Atlantic disaster recovery
scenario.
After
creating a MS SQL database disaster in a Boston site, failover operations
were quickly resumed running at a London site. After validating
consistency and running operations in London, failover back to Boston
was demonstrated. At this point the database was fully recovered
and 100 percent up-to-date, including any changes made in London
while Boston was down.
The demonstration used KBX4000, an advanced
enterprise-class disaster recovery data replication solution based
on the intelligent Kashya Data Protection Appliance that connects
to the SAN and IP infrastructure, providing bi-directional data
replication across any distance for heterogeneous storage and server
environments.
