Its investment and expansion plans include improving the existing range of member services and products and the research and development of new services for its members. Survive will also be focusing on expanding its international reach which already includes a parallel operation in Australia.

Lorraine has held similar director level appointments at both The Institute of Chartered Accountants and The International Air Transport Association (IATA), where she was responsible for the development of commercial services including training, distance learning, e-publishing, conferences, exhibitions and research. As director of Aviation Information and Conferences at IATA, Lorraine was responsible for a complete business restructure that turned a loss to a profit centre; launching IATA’s first on-line conference and exhibition as well as leading the transition to e-marketing and the introduction of customer retention management policies.

Commenting on the appointment, Cliff Bassett, chairman of Survive, said: “I am confident that Lorraine has the expertise and skills to make Survive the leading and first choice provider of business continuity information and services to assist our members in their business continuity role.”

Founded in 1989, Survive runs a wide range of business continuity courses aimed at both the novice and experienced practitioner, as well as Special Interest Group meetings which allow like minded practitioners to share experience and gain valuable insight into current business continuity issues. Both the training courses and Special Interest Groups are open to members and non-members; to view the full range of courses visit:
