Automata launches its Business Continuity Summerschool

Get free weekly news by e-mailAutomata's ‘Business Continuity Summerschool’ was launched on 19th May 2004 at Sedgebrook Hall, Northamptonshire, UK, commencing with a two day ‘Business Continuity Masterclass: Total Business Protection Package’.

The Masterclass aims to be a global leader in training students of organisations from all sectors to understand the 10 certification standards developed by the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) and the Disaster Institute International (DRII). Furthermore, it is designed to fully equip students to assist their organisation with the application and implementation of effective business continuity management (BCM) strategies. It also covers topical BCM regulatory issues, e.g. the UK British Standard PAS 56 Guide to BCM and the Civil Contingencies Bill.

On the afternoon of the first course Ian Charters, a board member of the BCI, who lectures on business continuity at Coventry University, gave a talk and led discussion on these matters.

Students who wished were able to try free reflexology, India Head Massage and aromatherapy during the evening session courtesy of Viva Vita Ltd who were piloting occupational stress relief therapies. Following the results, Viva Vita will continue to provide their services to the Summerschool.

Automata's Business Continuity Masterclass provides students with:

Two days training to fully equip them to develop (or assist with developing) a framework for building resilience within their organisation.

* A free CD packed with BCM tools such as risk/impact questionnaires, checklists and BCM plan templates for use within their organisation.

* A free BCM help desk for follow up enquiries and ongoing implementation concerns within their organisation.

* Free Affiliate membership of the Business Continuity Institute (if students are not already members).

Garry Poole and Jim Burtles who are both Fellows of the BCI and were founder members of the institute lead the Automata Business Continuity Masterclasses. Between them they have 40 years experience of assisting organisations implement cost effective, business continuity programmes.

Future Masterclasses will be run on:

Monday 14th June and Tuesday 15th June 2004
Wednesday 14th July and Thursday 15th July 2004
Wednesday 18th August and Thursday 19th August 2004

The cost of the Automata Business Continuity Masterclass is £995 + VAT and includes overnight accommodation, all meals, refreshments and leisure facilities at a first class conference venue in Northamptonshire.

A 10 percent discount is given to public sector employees, Continuity Central readers and Business Continuity Institute (BCI) members. Free pickups from Midlands airports and local train stations are provided.
