New service launched to help with SARS related business continuity issues

Framework Technologies, a provider of project execution decision support software, has announced a new product option supporting companies with operations impacted by travel restrictions. The new offering, ‘InstantProject Team Execution Package’, was driven by Framework customers who are adhering to travel advisories issued by the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the United Nations in response to the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak. These customers expressed the urgent need of a solution that addresses both employee safety and business continuity.

"Shortly after the CDC issued its advisory, we received multiple requests by companies who desired an immediate solution to offset obstacles presented by their inability to travel to their offshore facilities," said Cliff Stockley, vice president of field operations for Framework Technology. "They told us they banned travel to protect employees, yet they also wanted to minimise interruption to ongoing project activities such as design reviews and status meetings, which are typically done face-to-face. They turned to Framework because they could not afford a long ramp-up period - they needed to eliminate communications barriers immediately."

The resulting Framework solution enables project teams to quickly deploy a collaborative solution that is specifically designed for online design reviews and the execution of project activities among dispersed team members. The solution thereby protects employees by enabling them to work in safe locations, and minimises project and product schedule delays. The offering includes a three-day deployment guarantee that uses Framework's secure hosted environment and provides unlimited access to regularly scheduled webinar training. It was designed by a Framework team that was assembled to react to the increasingly dangerous travel environment and address new customer concerns.

"While business continuity has not been the main thrust of our solution, our technology lends itself to it. Our customers don't have to skip a beat on project execution while they have peace of mind that their employees are safe," said Donald Tomkinson, president and CEO of Framework Technologies.

Pricing for the Rapid Deployment Option ranges between $160 and $100 per user per month. Configurations start with five projects, 25 users and 1GB of file storage hosted at Framework's secure offsite facility.
