 The
Australian government has published ‘Let’s look out
for Australia: protecting our way of life from the terrorist threat,’
a document aimed at helping businesses and individuals protect themselves
and the country from terrorist attack.
The advice goes hand-in-hand with a public
information campaign encouraging Australians to ‘be alert
but not alarmed’, and to report suspicious activity to the
National Security Hotline on 1800 123 400.
The document includes:
* Advice from some of Australia’s foremost experts in counter-terrorism,
including the Director-General of ASIO and the Commissioner of the
Australian Federal Police;
* Guidance from the Director-General of Emergency Management Australia
and the
Commonwealth’s Chief Medical Officer; and
* Information about what to look out for and possible signs of terrorist
activity.
