Max Re Ltd decides on long-distance IT continuity solution

XOsoft, a provider of continuous application availability software solutions, has announced that Max Re Ltd., a provider of risk-controlled products for the global property and casualty, and life and annuity reinsurance and insurance markets, has successfully implemented XOsoft's WANSync solutions to securely replicate file, insurance database and e-mail servers at Max Re's Bermuda headquarters to high availability replicas in Dublin, Ireland.

With its main offices situated in Bermuda, a home to frequent hurricanes, Max Re is well aware of the risks that natural disasters pose to its information and communications infrastructure and, consequently, to the company's own viability. It has therefore made it a priority to secure its file, database and e-mail servers against unexpected disasters.

WANSync's application specific support for Exchange and SQL and its ability to rewind data to its latest consistent state in the event of data corruption were key reasons why Max Re Ltd chose to use the solution. Additional advantages included WANSync's ability to replicate servers over limited bandwidth and the speed and ease with which it can be installed.
