ICM
Computer Group plc has announced that it is to double its City of
London business recovery capacity by expanding its Wapping site.
ICM says this is as a direct consequence of customer demand.
The site will be increased from 250 to 500
recovery positions and will be fitted out to include additional
high availability and data hosting capabilities. ICM has acquired
the lease of an adjacent building which, following a specialised
fit-out, is expected to be operational in phases over the next six
months.
ICM has ten Alternative Workplace and Data
Hosting centres together with UK-wide mobile and relocatable business
continuity services across England. Within the portfolio ICM now
has 1,000 recovery positions serving inner and outer London.
Barry Roberts, ICM Chief Executive, commented:
“Doubling our capacity in the City extends ICM's inner-outer
London continuity strategy. It teams our recovery facilities in
Wapping with recovery centres in Sevenoaks and High Wycombe, to
provide a multi-site recovery capability to inner London customers.
“Our business continuity division grew
organically by 27 percent in the first half of the current financial
year. This reflects the continued and rapid growth in the contracted
base as well as the increasing awareness of our business continuity
services.”
