The
Business Continuity Institute is advertising for a senior executive
to replace outgoing CEO John Sharp. A remuneration package of around
£45,000 per annum is offered. The full text of the BCI’s

The role
The BCI is the leading international professional institute for
business continuity. It comprises a membership of over 1,500 from
all commercial sectors, public sector, education and charities world-wide.
Based at new headquarters in Reading, the successful candidate will
be responsible for the administration of member services and the
communication and marketing of the BCI’s strategy and capabilities.
The BCI is a not for profit mutual owned by the members with a small
trading subsidiary.
The individual
A graduate calibre senior executive with experience of company administration
preferably in a membership, society or association discipline. This
senior post reports directly to the Chair of the Executive Committee
of the BCI and is responsible for all administration and communication
matters. A small staff report to the successful candidate who will
be comfortable with technical and practical issues associated with
a professional institute. Industry experience within business continuity
is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with administration,
marketing, accounting, IT management, media, and the plethora of
issues running a secretariat will need to be demonstrated by a first
rate track record. Energy, initiative and leadership are prerequisites.
