GemaTech,
a UK-based business continuity company has launched ‘BCM Lite,’
a new and innovative solution for telecoms continuity. BCM Lite
is a development from GemaTech’s existing BCM telecoms continuity
product.
BCM is a powerful and sophisticated server-based
remote automatic call distribution system, including full skills-based
routing which can instantaneously re-route any number of DDIs or
call centre service numbers to any number of alternative locations.
It also allows the real-time management and monitoring of call routing
so that any necessary changes to a call plan can be quickly made,
even whilst in the middle of a crisis management situation. Incoming
calls can also be monitored, recorded and listened into.
BCM Lite is a new version of BCM which is targeted
at the smaller scale user; businesses that are simply looking to
divert DDIs or Call Centre service numbers but don’t require
the wider real time management capabilities that BCM provides. BCM
Lite operates over ISDN 40 E1 connections and will allow automatic
call re-routing within seconds of a communications failure. Any
number of individual call plans can be established in advance using
simple Excel spreadsheets. During an invocation, business continuity
managers or network supervisors simply select the most appropriate
plan and literally ‘drag and drop’ it onto the BCM Lite
icon located on any laptop or PC that has a data connection to BCM
Lite.
BCM Lite has the capacity to receive up to
30 concurrent incoming calls. The hardware is either installed in
a secure location within the same telecoms exchange area that serves
the customer’s office or can be installed inline with the
E1 trunk(s), which connect the carrier’s exchange to the customer’s
premises.
