The Role
As part of the Global Assurance team, to continuously drive the evolution of innovative efficient and effective continuity services to ensure the organisation can respond to major incidents and continue business operations at an acceptable pre-defined level. Further, to manage continuity risk to appetite & to demonstrate compliance in accordance with Group policy both to regulators and customers.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

- Contribute to annual planning and budgeting by contributing prioritised requirements and costs.
- Contribute to annual continuity testing plan and ensure all parties are lined up [internal staff, material third parties, key audit, process owners, managed testing service, SMEs].
- Contribute to Service Continuity risk road map “to appetite”.
- Manage BIA pipeline and scheduling.
- Manage documentation/libraries.
- Ensure that all staff have a clear understanding of their specific roles in the overall BCM function
- Conduct workshops with business functions to complete/update business impact assessments.
- Identify areas where existing plans do not fully address business requirements
- Work with business and IT stakeholders to address gaps and agree solution
- Design and participate in testing for continuity and incident management process. Ensuring the testing meets all policy/regulatory requirements and allows for determination of residual risk & proposed solutions
- Respond to customer and new prospect due diligence requirements, including preparation and face to face walkthroughs
- Perform on-going validation of continuity capabilities through relationships with stakeholders
- Support policy controls testing & quarterly operating effectiveness assessments
- Support internal and external audits
- Respond to incidents and business interruptions and ensure continued business operations at an acceptable pre-defined level
- Proactive introduction and user adoption of smart continuity technology & processes that supports global collaboration and integration

Deliverables/Key Performance Indicators

- No material impact to the business from inappropriately managed Continuity events (Count < Threshold)
- Demonstrated effectiveness (through testing and events) of continuity, disaster recovery, and incident management processes
- All service targets are being met
- Operating within agreed budget
- Positive feedback from internal customers; issues arising actively managed and resolved
- Continuity audit points & risk in tolerance for Continuity (Green Status, Late Audit < 5%)
- Tangible Continuity process efficiency gains each year
- Extended global convergence & coverage of continuity functions
- Effective and efficient Continuity plan delivered on time and budget with benefits realised.
- Proactive introduction and user adoption of smart technology and/or processes that support global collaboration and integration (Count>Threshold).

Governance

- Policies. To ensure IT Policy and Standards for continuity are followed.
- Risk. To ensure continuity risk is managed to appetite.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent or qualified by experience
- Professional certifications & member of professional body (e.g. CBCP / MBCI / FBCI).
- Project management certifications (e.g. PMP)

EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive demonstrable experience of global, full lifecycle service continuity management experience in the financial services industry.
- Hands on involvement in incident management (e.g. staff safety & welfare, mass IT outage, prolonged buildings displacement,)
- Global quality, process improvement, process design and implementation
- Global program / project management
- Delivering compliance to standards including, but not limited to SAS70(II) / ISAE
- Working with outsourced IT services and material service providers
