Our client a growing IT Company in the Bedford area is currently seeking to recruit a Data Centre Facilities Manager.
Objectives:
• To maintain the integrity of the Data Centres
• To manage the building infrastructure
o Physical Security
o Power Management
o Cooling
o Fire suppression
• To ensure the necessary processes and procedure exist for entry and best
practice within the data centre
Duties:
• Responsible for all processes and procedures relating to working
practices within the data centres.
• Work with senior management to propose, agree and delivery best practice
within the data centres.
• Implement procedures to control the entry and exit of authorised
personnel with the data centres.
• Implement a permit to work based process for work on the data centre
infrastructure, i.e. power, cooling and fire suppression.
• Responsible for monitoring the Problem & Change Processes as it relates
to the data centre infrastructure to ensure integrity of systems within the data centres.
• Monitor and report on infrastructure metrics on a monthly basis:
o Power availability
§ Mains power
§ Generator power
o Cooling (temperature and humidity)
o Infrastructure change control items
Skills & Attributes:
• Self Motivated individual able to introduce process to ensure efficiency
across all departments
• Understand the Outage management process
• Excellent understanding of ISO certifications
• Customer Focused, able to interact with clients and manage their
expectations
• Strong people management skills, able to get the best out of staff
• Analytical skills are strongly required
• Strategic Thinker, able to identify cost reductions without impact to
services
