POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Continuity Team is looking to add a seasoned, driven Business Continuity Specialist to its rapidly expanding and globally focused team. Reporting to the Director of Business Continuity the incumbent will add significant value to the Enterprise Business Continuity Management (BCM) program by creating and developing innovative programs and processes to ensure RIM is able to meet its business requirements and obligations.

The successful candidate will have the ability to build strong partnerships across business groups to coach, mentor and lead the development of appropriate business continuity management initiatives (Crisis Management, Business Resumption, Disaster Recovery etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
• Provide subject matter expertise in business continuity management including but not limited to business impact analysis (BIA/RA combination), strategy and plan development
• Aid business groups in developing and facilitating scenario exercises to ensure the plans will meet the needs of the business groups across RIM
• Support business areas to roll out an effective program maintenance process
• Assist with knowledge transfer with appropriate business areas for Crisis Management/Incident Command
• Interface among business owners, technology experts, and business continuity professionals in order to build partnerships and meet the BCM program goals
• Provide overall BCM organizational goals to Business Groups
• Ensure compliance to policy at the Business Group level
• Provide training on methodology including completion of BIAs, plan development, and the use of BCM tools as required to fulfill objectives
• Work closely with other areas of the BCM Team to report program status and assist in achieving the program goals and objectives

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 5-8 years experience in the following areas: development, implementation and maintenance of an enterprise global BCM program
• Certified Business Continuity Professional or equivalent
• Strong relationship management, coaching and mentoring skills to be applied both strategically and tactically across the organization, globally
• Strong communication skills including the ability to develop and deliver awareness and education and coach Business Groups in the development/enhancement of business continuity management program
• Knowledge of good practices for adoption and integration to RIM's enterprise BCM program (ITIL, Six Sigma, ISO standards, etc.)
• Familiarity with BCM software tools
• Follows standard methodology to coach Business Groups in their incorporation of the BCM program for their various functional areas
• Work complexity will vary depending upon the business group and the complexity of their services/functions and can be quite diverse within a business group
• Work independently or with colleagues to provide additional support and guidance to Business Groups and to ensure full redundancy of services within own team
• Sound understanding of functional business areas and their inter-relationships / dependencies
• Due to the nature of the role, it is one of influence and recommendation leveraging one's experience and expertise versus making decisions on behalf of business groups for their continuity initiatives and solutions
• University Degree/College Diploma in a Business/IT related field preferred
• Flexibility to work outside of regular scheduled business hours when required
