Do you want to be part of an innovative and forward thinking team? Do you have experience of working within Business Continuity? If so we have the job for you.
An excellent opportunity has arisen to manage the Business Continuity function within Wolverhampton City Primary Care Trust. Business continuity is a critical area for the Trust. In the event of an incident or emergency (internal or external) the Trust has a responsibility to the local residents that essential facilities and healthcare operations remain open and accessible.
The Trust has already made significant progress with Business Continuity and has adopted a strategy in addition to planning for its critical services. This role will continue to develop and implement planning strategies, in line with BS25999, in addition to the national guidance on the Trust’s role as a Category 1 responder under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
The role will also act as a central point of guidance on Business Continuity within the Trust as well as assisting in facilitating exercises for services and ensuring exercise timetables are adhered to.
You must have had previous experience working within a business continuity role. This previous working experience will give you the skill set to effectively implement large scale plans to keep a number of key critical services running in the midst of a disruption.
In order to effectively handle this role, it’s essential you are a team player. Excellent communication skills will enable you to convey the importance of planning for all eventualities, and you will be expected to act as a champion with the aim of embedding Business Continuity throughout the Trust. Knowledge of BS 25999 as well as the duties of the Trust under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 is imperative. From time to time you’ll be required to provide necessary training, so will have some experience in this area. You’ll also be supporting a wide range of services and independent contractors, so you’ll need the capacity to handle multiple projects efficiently.
